Elizabeth Colleran
graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary
Medicine in 1990. After completing an internship
in Massachusetts she worked in small animal general
practice until 1995. In 1996, she received a Master
of Science degree in Animals and Public Policy from
Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Beginning in 1997, Dr. Colleran changed her focus
to exclusively feline medicine and joined the American
Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). An invitation
to become a Fellow in the Academy of Feline Medicine
followed in 1998. In 2003, Dr. Colleran was invited
to join the Board of AAFP.
After acquiring a
small piece of land in Chico, CA, she designed and
built the Chico Hospital for Cats, received the
"Small Business Person of the Year" award
from the Small Business Administration in California.
Portland, Oregon has been
on Dr. Colleran's mind since her first visit in
1994. She loved Portland and had hoped to someday
be a part of such a vibrant community. Her strong
interest in bicycing, the arts, and music joined
with a profound appreciation for the architecture
and the people. When the chance to bring her vision
of compassionate care to the cats of Portland presented
itself, it was irresistible. |
